This table provides examples of the recommended starting dose (10 mg/kg) and maximum dose (20 mg/kg) for PKU. Physicians should adjust the dose as necessary to achieve adequate blood Phe control.1

The dose should be calculated based on the current weight of the patient. KUVAN® can be prescribed in 100 mg tablets, 500 mg powder for oral solution sachets, or a combination of 100 mg tablets and 500 mg sachets at the physician’s discretion.1
